Back to Ironwood Golf Course

Back to the scene of the crime, Garret and I returned to Ironwood Golf Course tonight where we had taken lessons back in February. We each hit about a 105 balls on the empty driving range tonight after dinner. Ugh, sore now!

Stop by In-N-Out Burgers on my way home to pick up some gift certificates for the Hunts. We had heard that Brice was craving burgers and Mexican food after being in K-land for a couple months.

Got me another tee shirt (from In-N-Out, of course).

da Loot!

The Hunts are coming home!

Just heard from a mutual friend of Brice and myself that the Hunts are catching a flight back to LA today. They should be back at LAX tomorrow (Saturday) at Noon time on Lufthansa
Airlines.

Paul is getting me the flight number as soon as possible.

Stay Tune!

** Update **

Here it is:

Flight # LH 456
From: Frankfurt/Main International, Germany
To: Los Angeles International, USA
ETA 12:35 pm

New BSG Buzz!!

Watching the Mighty Ducks at the Pond

I got to see Game Four of the Playoffs with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks vs the Calgary Flames tonight. Mister "Bubble-Boy" Carlos invited me to see his favorite NHL team.

It was a great game tonight. The first period was a defensive struggle. In the 2nd period, the Ducks score two goals in rapid succession! In the 3rd period, the Flames returned the favor by scoring two quick goals tying up the game. The Overtime period began with the Duck in a Power Play (i.e. one of the Flames players was cooling his heels in the penalty box). In just a few minutes the OT was over and the Ducks emerged victoriously!

A sea of Duck's playoff towels!

Ducks beats Flames 3 - 2 in OT!

BB and I met some guys from Calgary. They were pretty decent fellows even when they were waving their big Red Calgary banner in front of BB! Poor BB, he took it in stride.

Before the game began, I got to meet the Miller Girls and take the "Taste test"; even got an autographed poster and mini hockey puck!

DB with one of the Miller Girls!

The beer wasn't bad either ... AND I got "Carded" again! I'm totally not looking my age!

Cheers!

** Update **

Rantings from a craze consumer .... on my way to BB's workplace, I foolishly gas up at a Shell station that I had always thought was a good deal! It was freaking $ 3.60 / gallon for regular gas there .... and every freaking place after that atleast 30 t 50 cents cheaper!! How stupid can I be!! Ugh!!!!

Lunch at Red Robin

As you can gather from my previous blog postings, I like to take photos of food (as well as people and things).

We took our coworker Val out for her belated bday today at the local Red Robin.

Here's the birthday girl.

Here's Karen, Val and Lana.

And here's my yummy lunch - a BBQ Chicken Wrapper.

Golfing at "Little Rec" in Long Beach

Played my 2nd 9 holes this afternoon at "Little Rec" (Recreationa Park 9 Municipal Golf Course) in Long Beach after work today. Traffic was bad but we managed to make to our 5:45 Tee Time.
Here's Joe waiting for Wai to tee.

While I was waiting to tee my 2nd hole, Miss Veggie called to asked about tonight's Lost Episode (that's twice you've call while I was golfing, Miss Veggie, but it's always nice to hear from you!).

I had some good holes and some bad holes but I still can't make a decent chip shot. I got stuck in a couple sand traps (bunkers) and lost a couple balls in a water hazard (the lagoon).

All in all it was a fun (but frustrating) time! I got to use my new golf cart and break in one of my new golf glove.

We just managed to finish the 9th hole at 7:47 pm before it got totally dark!

Here's the bad score card!

It was suppose to rain today but I only noticed my car was all wet after dinner tonight (L&L BBQ).

Overall, a good golfing outing! I got a 60 on a 32 par (plenty of room for improvement but hey, I only started playing in January).

More $$$ into golf addiction

I'm feeding my addiction; bought a new pull cart for my golf bag, a couple new hybrid clubs, golf towel, and some new golf gloves (to replace the one I dropped on the course on Saturday). I have to buy another Nike golf hat, must have left it somewhere.

I'm going golfing again with my coworkers on Wednesday after work. We're going to an executive nine hole in Long Beach.

oh, the insanity!!!

The Yardhouse in Brea

After lunch, Carlos and I hung out at my place watching some of the NBA playoff games. Bryan J. joined us later after he was done having lunch with his Newsong N.O.C. friends.

We went to Carlos' new fav eatery, "The Yardhouse" in Brea. It was a pretty nice place and cheaper than "Taps" down the street. The only thing was, I couldn't believe that all three of us got "carded" for beer?! Our combined age was well over a 110 years!!!

Oh well, it's only the 2nd time I've been carded within the last year or so. The time before that must have been 5 or 6 years.

* Update (4/26)

CZ reminded me that it WAS a blessing to have a waitress card HIM; in fact, he even said so to the waitress. And the reality was that our combined age was 117 plus!

(photos from last year)

Going to the NHL Playoffs with Mr. Z on Thursday too. Anyone knows who the Anaheim Duck are playing (I'm such a big hockey fan, ha ha).
