Epic Church - Handling Pain (forgiveness)

worship team

Pastor Erin on handling "pain" / forgiving others.

Series: Turning Church Upside Down
Message: How to deal with hurt.

In our series about turning the church upside down, we want to take a look at how to deal with hurt, in practical, real world terms. Our call, and our rule, indeed our very foundation, is forgiveness, and the challenge is to embody that grace, that forgiveness. A few practical tips for doing just that. You cannot be positive unless you can admit, forgive and master the negative in life.

Epic Church "Turning the Church upside down"

Sorry, no blog posting from Epic's July 8th worship celebration (DB was out of town)
Series: Turning Church Upside Down
Message: Ownership

Synopsis: Looking at scripture, we want to think about how to be a better church together. We are a confederation of independant entities, ruled more by the powers and principalities over us as SoCal Churchgoers. In the interest of freedom, we miss real freedom and connection. What gives? All that and more. Committing to people and things taking pride in what we do together.

Pastor Erin did the announcements today (as well as preached today's message).

Another nice mediation from Andrew T.

Saw the cruise ship the Elation docked nearby

Touring the USS Midway (one of five decomissioned aircraft carriers on public display in the country). Cost $15 buck and you get a free audio tour setup. It was kinda of funny, when the tour started; I overheard a kid telling his parents that (the inside of the carrier) reminded her of "Battlestar Galactica" ... the producers of BSG would be proud 'cause that was exactly their intent!

DB near the top deck of the USS Midway

Marine cooling off on a warm day

Tourist "at the helm" of the USS Midway

An active duty destroyer goes out to sea (noticed in the back of the warship the two smaller boats; the navy patrol boat farthest away was flashing it's blue lights and cutting off and warning the smaller sport boat in the foreground as the sport boat was approaching too closely to the destroyer).

Boats anchored near Seaport Village

Resting at SD Seaport Village

Trolley stop at America's Place

The "Star of India", part of the maritine museum. Ron and Steve at the gift shop.

Dinner time at Anthony's Fish Grotto

I got the hickory smoked Salmon, it was yummy!

Back to the Amtrack station for the 2 hour ride back home.
