Wednesday morning, our trip started off with breakfast at the local Carl Jr's (since Starbuck wasn't open at 5am because it was the Fourth of July)!

We stopped off at the Wal-Mart in Ridgecrest about 1/3 of the way up to Bridgeport.
We stopped off at Bishop's famous Erick Schat's Bakkery for lunch. It was over 100 degrees outside (we kept Brody - The Pang's Retriever company outside). I had a nice pastrami sandwich!

Here's the island in the middle of Mono Lake (almost there)!

A nice boat in Mono Lake

We stopped off at Jolly Kone for some yummy ice cream (wow, camping isn't so hard after all)!

Finally arrived at our camp site early afternoon (about 5 1/2 hour drive).

Here we are checking in

and setting up our tents

DB is ready for a night in the woods!
uh, oh ... should have brought the .44 mag!
Who's worry about bears ?!
Art is trying his hand with fishing
We went to the local cafe at the camp site
Unfortunately, the service wasn't too pleasant but a nice brewski helps ...
Our first night was pretty loud with all the folks coming back into camp from the Fourth of July celebrations.
