Scripture - Hosea 13

SERIES: THE ODD COUPLE: A Strangely Beautiful Love Story (A rendezvous through the Book of Hosea)
TITLE: A WALK DOWN THE AISLE
TEXT: Hosea Chapters 11:12-14:9
SYNOPSIS: A recap of the series, focusing on the inexplicable love of God for his people. The question the book of Hosea raises for us is this: Knowing God is for us, his desire for relationship, and his offer of grace, mercy, and blessing, do we believe life with God is better than a life without? Are we willing to walk down the aisle with God?

SERIES: THE ODD COUPLE: A Strangely Beautiful Love Story (A rendezvous through the Book of Hosea)
TITLE: LOVE HOPES
TEXT: Hosea Chapter 11:1-11
SYNOPSIS: Love ultimately cares too much to give up. In one of the most intimate and tender portions of Scripture, Israel is a child whom God loves and loves some more. Despite the consequences of Israel's sin and waywardness, God will redeem his people and not forever punish them - because He is God, and not human. His faithfulness and engagement remain constant even when his people are faithless and fleeting.

SERIES: THE ODD COUPLE: A Strangely Beautiful Love Story (A rendezvous through the Book of Hosea)
TITLE: LOVE SCORNED: The Relational Nature of Sin
TEXT: Hosea Chapters 4-10 (selected excerpts)
SYNOPSIS: In evangelical circles, sin is often defined in legal terms. But in Hosea, we see that sin is in essence relational in nature. Israel's sin is a misplaced trust and desire for self-sufficiency apart from God. Sin is ultimately sin against grace.
