MESSAGE: LIFE IN EDEN

TEXT: Genesis 2:4-17

SYNOPSIS: We're exploring the theme of vocation, with our ultimate vocation located in enjoying God and partnering with Him tending to where we've been planted. In our increasingly mobile and transitory way of life, it is tempting to avoid committing to things because we don't know we're we'll be in [blank] number of years. But the downside is that we might miss out on the people and experiences we were supposed to enjoy during that time, people and experiences leading to real growth in us. Instead of believing that life is always in the "next place," maybe life in Eden teaches us to take more seriously what's in front of us today, right where we're planted.

at Ralph B. Clark Regional Park where our class practiced casting with the $600 fly fishing rods.

I guess I got my money's worth today. Spent a $100 for this class, $51 for a California fishing license, and another $30 on fly fishing supplies (including leaders and and dry flies). That first Trout is definitely a KEEPER!!

MESSAGE: Redemptive Creator

TEXT: Genesis 1:1-2:3

SYNOPSIS: Theologically, Exodus precedes Genesis, so we read the creation account through the lens of love, liberation, and redemption. It is the God of grace, who frees the Israelites from slavery who is also the Creator of the cosmos, all as a gift of grace to human persons. For the Hebrew, the creation story does not answer how things were created, but why? What does this mean for our community at Epic? Come and see!
