Wahoo's after church

Wahoo is a "local" Baja style Mexican Restaurant started by a Chinese family from South America. There's a bunch of them in The O.C. as well as in Texas, Colorado, and Hawaii.

Pastor Kev, his kids, Carlos and I went to the one in Fullerton down the street from Wilshire Avenue Church.

I think I got the big Kahuna burrito combo or something.

This is Mingo Lee, one of the brothers who started Wahoo Fish Taco's.

Aaaaah 18 holes of golf (oooh, pain)!

DB's Golfing adventures continues ...

DB at Willowick G.C. in Santa Ana, CA

Me and Gamera-san just got back from our five and a half hours of golf with James! It was sort like hiking and golfing combined! Was getting cramped toward the end.

One of the neatest things was that we got a random 4th player, Hiro who is the head / managing sushi chef of Ango Tei Sushi in Costa Mesa. When I mentioned that the three of us knew each other thru a Christian Church, he smiled and shared his Michael Chang story with me. A year ago Hiro got to play 12 holes of golf with Michael Chang and asked for his autograph. Hiro described MC as a "real gentleman" and on his autograph wrote, "God loves you, Michael". What a witness, MC is!!

Here's Gamera-San practicing at the driving range.

Here's James teeing off.

Well for my very first time playing 18 holes, I didnt' totally suck ... I got a 141 on 71 par course. It was a beautiful overcast day in Santa Ana. I didn't realized this was the same course that Grace L. works at (Willowick G.C.).

Here I am hitting a long drive with my hybrid club.

DB putting.

DB on the fairway somewhere on the 9th hole.

Almost there, the 18th hole (where I really sucked)!

In between uploading photos, I'm right in the middle of making Spam Musubi for a Hawaiian theme potluck tonight. Whew! What a long day and it's not half over yet!

Mult-task Thursday night!

Again, I blame Daylight Savings. Got off work at 5:00, rushed home, grabbed my clubs and went to the driving range.

Whew, tired now! Got the large bucket (150 balls) and practiced for about an hour. Also tried putting and chipping. Gassed up (Man! $2.95/gal!!), got groceries and got home by 8:00 or so.

Started mult-tasking as soon as I walked in the door; started laundry, marinated steak, unpack and put away groceries, fired up the gas grill, boiled water for corn, grilled steak, nuked left over rice, put clothes in dryer, start another load of laundry, took a break to eat, and clean off grill all by 9:30.

Now my right shoulder blade is sore now (I guess 150 strokes is a lot to do, huh ?). Well the weekend is coming. Gotta save some strength for a busy weekend.

Think I'm making Mac n Cheese for House Church Potluck and Spam Musubi for a get together with friends on Saturday. In between, I got 18 holes of golf in Santa Ana but hey, it's all fun!!!

Fullerton House Church this Friday

Yes! We are meeting this Friday 7pm at the Hunt's in Fullerton on our new 1st and 3rd Friday schedule.

This is probably the last time we'll meet as a larger House Church 'cause Pastor Erin is gonna go "rebel" on us and declare a "secession" (j/k). Actually, Pastor Kevin and Pastor Erin wanted to expand and offer a 2nd House Church in the area which may involve some of us going to a smaller group.

Anyway, our food theme for this Friday is American Comfort Food (Mac n Cheese, pot roast, etc ...)

Milele at Epic Church this Sunday!

Milele is leading worship at Epic Church this Sunday!

Milele is a Kenyan-American musical group, very lively and dynamic! We're blessed to have them at Epic again!

18 holes at Willowick Golf Course this Saturday!

Oh boy oh boy!! My first 18 holes of golf this weekend. Hope I don’t embarrassed my friends!

Willowick G.C. is in Santa Ana, CA. It's listed as 6,063 yards / 110 slope / 67.7 rating / par 71 for Men / 5,742 yards / 118 slope / 72.3 rating / 71 par for Women.

My coworkers described it as a good flat course for a beginner like me. The only warning I got was to wear a helmet since the course is played "close quarters", listen for people yelling "FORE" for when a golf ball is flying your way.

I'm looking forward to this. I almost had to cancel when my dentist office called this morning to tell me that I was scheduled for a teeth cleaning this Saturday morning too! Good thing they were able to find another patient to switch with me! Woo Hoo!

Good thing I got in another practice round at the driving range yesterday! Need to start practice on my putting.

TV News and Stuff

The Good New for tonight if you're an "Alias" fan is that the first of nine (tonight is a double episode) is that Syd and company are back for their final season. They will finish out the rest of their series thru May.

The Bad News for tonight if you're a "Lost" fan is you don't get ANY tonight. That's right, "Lost" is preempted by the 2 hr "Alias" 'Return' episode.

The Not Good but Not Bad News for us "Lost" fans is that next week episode, "Reckoning" is NOT a rerun but NOT a regular episode either; it's a recap "clip" show intended to help those who missed the last few episode to catch up (as if they haven't already shown us reruns after reruns). Spoiler about Michael has been posted on my other blog page. "Lost" 's season two finale is set for a 2hr episode on May 24th.

Speaking of Spoilers, some news about two "24" actors. Also, who will live and who will die by the end of this season? Heck, it's been a bloodbath on "24" this season! According to TV Guide the last 2hr episode of Season / Day Five is May 22nd. Unfortunately, that is the same date of the series finale of "Alias" too!

Some new about "Grey's Anatomy" ... no new episode this Sunday the 23rd but a special recap show / "Clipshow" to help you viewers who took a "LENT Break" to catch up. Next new episode is April 30th. One Spoiler tidbit on my other page.

So what's going on with "The O.C." ? Is Theresa coming back with her baby?

Congrats to "Battlestar Galactica" for winning this year's Peabody Award for best television show.

Easter Celebration at Epic Church

We had a pretty good Easter Celebration at Epic today.

I was able to shoot some photos in between setting up, doing greetings, and tearing down for service today.

Got to watch our Gospel Choir practice earlier. They're lead by Kong and Jed. They were awesome.

Worship was also led by James Y. Everyone was so dressed up today (we're usually very casual at Epic).

Pastor Kev and his helpers were setting up for the special breakfast.

Art manned the sound board today.

Easter Breakfast in community.

Carlos and Greg helped with name tags and greetings.

Greg also wrote and performed a special song.

Ed S. shared his testimony.

Pastor Kev preached on "Emptiness"

We had communion and prayers.

Worship and Gospel Choir gave a rousing celebration.

It was a good Easter Celebration at Epic.
