A long Saturday ...

What a busy day! Isn't Saturday suppose to be the Sabbath (a day of rest)?

I guess I'm just an crazed multi-tasker!

Up at 8am, shower / breakfast.

Drive up to Pasadena for dentist appointment.

Made a detour to Peets Coffee (for another bag of "Major Dickerson Blend") and since Golfsmiths is next door, made a quick shopping trip for somemore Nike apparel (using some of the generous birthday GC that my friends got me back in January).

Just made it to my dentist for my belated check up and teeth cleaning.

Here's the office that I go to.

This is Mrs Itano, she's really nice (a real family business).

This is my usual view when I'm in "the chair" (it's the lamp over my face).

Here's my X-rays ... I guess if something ever happened to me you can double check my dental records (ha ha).

My appointment ran alittle late so I had a chance to run across the street to pick up a card and
gift for my folk for the birthday party that I was going to after my teeth cleaning.

After my teeth got all nice and polished, I hopped into my Acura and raced down to Burbank for my next appointment.

Finally got to "The Castaway" banquet center right in the middle of Burbank's De Bell's golf course! I got there about an hour and 1/2 late right in the middle of the hula performance (the event was my aunt's mom 90th birthday). I wolfed down the extra salad that was at my table and the main entree soon appeared.

More dancers and singers ...

Here's the birthday girl, Mrs Dytiapco, 90 years young!!!

Here's the nice cake.

Here's DB's relatives, aunts, uncles and one of my cousins.

The next generation, my Cuz Michael's twins and their cousin.

Hmmm, didn't I mention that this place was right in the middle of a golf course?! Somehow, I made it down to the driving range.

What started out to be a pretty good golfing session

... ended sadly!

Defective club or baseball power swing ... towards the end of hitting about 110 golf balls, my clubhead flew off of my brand new Adams 3 Wood and landed about 40 feet away on the driving range (how embarassing)!

The drive back to Buena Park was long and sad. I was fortunate that the sporting good place gave me a full refund for my busted golf club!

Oh, after we got back from Sports Authority, I discovered that someone had "tagged" our trash bin in our patio!!! @#*# punks!!!! I tried scrubbing off the graffiti but not much of it came off.

Tried to watch the Laker game but they were already 15 point in the hole, ouch! After dinner, my roomie and I went to the local driving range hit about 100 ball or so as well as putted a few holes.

All in all a pretty full Saturday. Well, the Laker got knocked outta of the playoffs but the Dodgers actually won another game tonight.

Epic Fullerton House Church I - May 5th

We had a pretty good community / family time at House Church tonight. Our bible study had budded off a sister House Church at the Segawa's tonight so this was our first night as a smaller group. Pastor Kev was in London this week for an Oasis board meeting so Dorene facilitated tonight's community time.

Brice made all of us try an "interesting" Kazahkstan treat .... ask him about it. Gamera-San and Miss Fifi seemed to like it.

Tonight dinner theme was Chinese. There was lots of yummy food. And lot of kids running around including Miss Karina Hunt!

Sarah led worship with assistance on the harmonica from Jed.

Dorene made announcements.

Janice thanked the group for their support in her dad's recent passing.

Brice and Sandee shared some of the details of their stay in Kazahkstan, Karina's adoption process, and their problems with leaving Kazahkstan.

We had a time of prayer for the Hunt's, Karina's transition into her new life in America, the Kazahkstan's people and the missionary in Kazahkstan.

Our evening concluded with fellowship, dessert and cleanup.

Happy Cinco de Mayo

aka ... "Let go buy Corona beer day" (j/k)!

It's PARTY TIME!!! ha ha!!

Actually, I have house church tonight and our food theme is "Chinese" .... Hey, Fiona ... maybe we can switch it to yummy "Mexican" food! You know Eggrolls / Burritos, same differents!

Cheers! And to my fellow worker/slaves ... it's TGIF too!!

** Update ***

Please keep Mister Carlos Z. (aka "Bubble Boy") in your thoughts and prayers .. he's been really sick all week and would most likely miss bible study and church this week. He's online so email him with your encouragement and well wishes. If you're in his area, bring him a bowl of chicken noodle soup (NO MSG PLEASE!)!

Hang in there BB!

Golfing at Iron Wood Nine

Iron Wood Nine Golf Course.

This is a wonderful executive nine hole course! W and I got there after work and tee'd off at 5:28pm.

The First Hole was pretty close. W figured out that it about 95 yards away. I knocked my first stroke about 10 yards beyond the green (used my hybrid 5 club).

I think this was one of the longer fairways about 300 plus yards.

Here's W taking a practice swing for the ninth hole. Neither of us could hit over the water hazard so we took drops on the other side.

For some reason it wasn't too crowded on Thursday. We finished the course by 7:15 pm. I had the usual frustrations (chip shots, water hazards, bad putting, etc ....)

Here's the bad score card! Atleast I'm three stokes better than last week.

Meanwhile has anyone logged on to this website (related to LOST) ?

Signs of serious (Golf) addictions

Before January 2006, I had always thought ... "Boy, what a boring game golf is ..." and "Who would watch golf on tv or read golf magazines" ...

Four months later, a set and half of clubs, golf shoes, new golf bag, three brand new clubs, five Nike golf hats, etc ... and I go to bed thinking how sweet my new Adams RPM Fairway Wood club sounds when them balls goes "sizzling" down the range!

I'm serious hooked! Oh, and now I watch (and recorded) PGA / LPGA games and read them "boring" magazines now.

** Update **

Happy Belated Birthday (May 1st) to my fellow golfer, brother in Christ and friend, Michael I.!!

Happy Belated Birthday also on May 1st to Audrey P. !!

** Update 2 ** May 3rd

I went to driving range last night after my workout and errands/dinner ... I totally sucked! Shoulder muscle was really tight but atleast I got to practiced my putting.

Mister MonkeyFries said that he and his coworkers went to an all you can hit driving range in Lake Forrest. They did about 500 balls (each?). Wow!!
