Main Speaker - Pastor Erin on Holy Spirit series "Missing Person"
the "mixed tape" / America's Top 40 Erin's anecdotes
Discussion question: Are you a "Heads in the Cloud" or "Feets on the Ground" person?
Main Scriptures - Acts 2
Supporting Scripture - John 16
"The Holy Spirit is given to Jesus to pour out to the people"
The "Spirit of Christ"
the litmus test is how much "Spiritual" people look like Jesus (note the weird "spiritual" look that some "spiritual" folks have - from Erin's UCLA days anecdote).
Implications when we pray and invite the Holy Spirit into our lives:
1. Prayer with confidences that God is NOT going to overwhelm you or "club" you over the head / Prayer is SAFE.
2. Prayer is MORE Dangerous - it produces HOPE and Builds you up and shapes you to be more like Jesus.
Application / deeper discussion question: Are Prayers "SAFE" or "DANGEROUS" for you?
Closing Prayer
Closing worship and communion
Benediction - Pastor Erin
SERIES: Missing Person
Title: Perp.
SYNOPSIS: Soooo, having finished the OT, we encounter in the NT the Holy Spirit, not as a spirit but as actual God. What happened? Why the change, and how can we recognize the Holy Spirit now?
BONUS Photos: Father's Day
Mark (with one of his daughters) is one of many great dads in our congregation, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to them ALL!!! BTW great Tie!
