MESSAGE: Write in Candidate
TEXT: Luke 4
SYNOPSIS: When Jesus announces his intentions in Luke, he cites Isaiah 61, proclaiming the year of Jubilee. This tells us his priorities. It must also be remembered that this comes after the temptations, and so we see Jesus turns down a certain kind of power, the will-to-power in favor of the power of love. -Cue Huey.

SERIES: The Politics of Community
MESSAGE: Write in Candidate
TEXT: Mt 5:13-16
SYNOPSIS: having established that the church is inherently political and must be the place where we give our loyalty to none other than God, it's time to get a little more practical. How do we do this? How to be in the world but not of it? How to engage without hoping in the structures that be? We have to retain our identity as the church, the identity that Jesus lays out in the Sermon on the Mount at the end of the Beatitudes.
