Synopsis: Explore the beauty, yet real risk God took in describing his relationship with us as a parent, especially given the difficulty & dysfunction many people have with their parents. Through scripture and personal stories, will try to elaborate on why God used this metaphor, and why it is so powerful. In particular, will explore how to understand God when bad things happen using the parent metaphor, hoping to provide a theological framework that is hopeful, comforting, and accurate.
