SERIES: [More Than] POINT A TO POINT B [But Everything In Between]
TITLE: Finding the Courage
TEXT: Joshua 1:1-9
SYNOPSIS: With God, it's always more than getting us from Point A to Point B, but everything in between counts, too. That's because God isn't just interested in getting us somewhere, but the kind of people we become along the way. In this introductory portion of Chapter 1, God exhorts Joshua to "be strong and courageous". This is essential if he is to lead the people of Israel into all that they are promised. But what goes into being courageous? Here we see that the assurance of the Lord's Presence and the guidance of the Lord's Word are welcomed and gracious traveling companions.
