SERIES: WHY? - Behind What We Do At Epic
MESSAGE: Why We Talk About Justice So Much
TEXT: Matt 25
SYNOPSIS: We talk a lot about justice. Why? Because it's the only way to talk about Jesus! Justice, at its heart, is a supernatural, all encompassing love for people, and it's central to who Jesus was and is. How can we pursue it? How can we have a heart of love like that?

SERIES: WHY? - Behind What We Do At Epic
MESSAGE: WHY we preach funny!
TEXT: John 14
SYNOPSIS: Church in the US has some assumptions about truth that get in the way of hearing Jesus sometimes. In our stories, we discover the same voice of God calling to us that calls to us from the Bible time and time again.
Taking our stories a part of the story the Bible testifies to is the goal of preaching, not providing more information.

SERIES: WHY? - Behind What We Do At Epic
MESSAGE: WHY KIDS RUN FREE
TEXT: Matthew 19:13-15; Matthew 18:1-5
SYNOPSIS: In this series, we examine 10 common elements of our life as Epic and explain the thinking and theology behind them. Some of these practices are uncommon in other churches and can even be a mystery to our own congregation. Not only do we want to shed some light on why we do what we do, but invite the appreciation and embracing of who we are. This week we ask the question, "Why do we let kids run free during our worship gatherings?" The answer lies in the way Jesus honored and valued children, and equated welcoming them to welcoming him.

SERIES: WHY? - Behind What We Do At Epic
MESSAGE: WHY WE'RE NOT "HOLY" HOLY.
TEXT: Mark 7:17-20
SYNOPSIS: In this series, we examine 10 common elements of our life as Epic and explain the thinking and theology behind them. Some of these practices are uncommon in other churches and can even be a mystery to our own congregation. Not only do we want to shed some light on why we do what we do, but invite the appreciation and embracing of who we are. This week we are going to talk about holiness: what it is, and why our pursuit does not look like some of the traditional ways the evangelical world has pursued it.
