SERIES: Terrible/Beautiful The Final Days of Jesus
MESSAGE: Easter
TEXT: Matthew 28:1-20
SYNOPSIS: I'll venture to guess that most Easter messages end here with the women encountering the Risen Christ, or maybe with the chief priests paying off the guards to cover up the resurrection (including one's I've preached!). But it's curious in Matthew's 28th chapter that the Great Commission follows immediately after these events. Is there a link between Easter and the command of Jesus to go and make disciples? I think so. Before the cross, the message was to become a disciple. After the resurrection, it's about making disciples. The women, the disciples, are dramatically different after meeting the resurrected Jesus. Easter, this grace of God, it seems, makes new things possible. Easter is not meant simply to be celebrated, but to fundamentally change how we live, why we live, and for whom we live.

Benediction - Pastor Erin

SERIES: Terrible/Beautiful The Final Days of Jesus
*MESSAGE: The Cross*
TEXT: Matthew 27:32-50
SYNOPSIS: The cross is the point of conflict between the world and the Kingdom of God. It represents a regime change (Brueggemann). But the cross is not central to what is happening, Jesus would have dies one way or another. What does that tells us about God's connection to us?
