MESSAGE: Jesus’ Arrest
TEXT: Matthew 26:45-56
SYNOPSIS: Matthew does not contrast Judas and the Disciples, but rather all of them and Jesus. Jesus holds a different kind of power rather than the kind of power all the disciples exercise.

SERIES: Terrible/Beautiful The Final Days of Jesus
MESSAGE: The Last Supper
TEXT: Matthew 26:14-30
SYNOPSIS: The intersection of the terrible and beautiful is no more poignant nor tragic than the interaction between Judas and Jesus and the interweaving of their relationship. As the story has been told, Judas who sells Jesus out to the chief priests is the tragic figure of betrayer. This is the terrible. But Jesus treats him as one of the twelve, as a friend. This is the beautiful. Out of love and a last ditch effort at inclusion, Jesus offers his betrayer the bread and juice, an act of beautiful grace in a moment of terrible foreshadowing.

SERIES: Terrible:Beautiful
MESSAGE: Terrible:Beautiful The Final Days of Jesus
TEXT: Matthew 26:1-13
SYNOPSIS: The Journey towards Easter is an awesome one, awesome in it's proper sense. It is bigger than us, and both terrible and beautiful at the same time. In Christ's story we see the full extent of our fallen world, and something more: grace!
