Epic Church - baseball outing

Epic Church had another baseball outing today at Dodger Stadium. Traffic was pretty heavy getting out to Dodger Stadium in LA. Ed and I carpooled in from Buena Park. (It took us about an hour plus going on the 91 to the 110 and Hollywood freeway thru Echo Park and on to Scott street to Stadium Way.)

Even the security check point was frustrating (it was like 20 deep)!

It was good to finally get inside, Ed and I went for baseball food as soon as we found our seats!

Here I am with my grilled Dodger Dogs waiting to get those "garlic french fries"!

Ed had to wait for a fresh batch of garlic fries. Totally worth the wait, huh Ed?!

The Dodger listed all the organization that bought group tickets so we were waiting for our name to come up ... seems like someone in the Dodger front office made a little "typo" spelling EPIC CHURCH, at least they spelled "Church" correctly. Hmmm, maybe there was an "Epci Church" at the ball game today?!

Finally got to sit down to watch the game and to have lunch! It was really nice since we were in the shade and there was a cool breeze!

Garret got us great seats!

Uh oh Kate, better be careful 'cause Pastor Kevin is behind you.

A sea of "Dodger's blues" and "Angel's reds" today

Today's 2nd of the 3 game freeway series was a sellout at 56,000!

"Think Blue" was in the background ... actually the Dodger could have used a "Rally Monkey" today!
A frozen Lemonaide hit the spot on a warm afternoon, yum!

During the 7th inning, one of the Angel got injured on 2nd base. Casey Kotchman got beaned on the helmet by Dodger Catcher Russell Martin. Kotchman suffered a Grade I concussion.

fortunately, Kotchman was able to get up and get treated.
The 7th inning stretch

Scoreboard at the bottom of the 9th with the Angel leading the Dodgers 3-0

Bottom of the 9th - Dodger batting

Angel's closer throwing the last pitch of the game

Angels win 3-0, tying up the freeway series 1-1! Congrats Angel Fans!!

It was an enjoyable baseball afternoon, thanks Garret and David for organizing the outing.
Unfortunately, the drive back to Buena Park took an hour & half back in Saturday freeway traffic!

"Love is a Verb : Writing your own story" Epic Church

SERIES: LOVE IS A VERB: Writing Your Own Story
Message: Who Are You Writing Into Your Story?

Synopsis: Ultimately, the most important matter in life is people. It is people who will last, nothing else. And in the end, it is people who will tell our story when we are long gone. Who are those people? What will they say about us? This week we will explore the importance of thinking about who it is we are writing into our stories. Who are we serving? Who at Epic are we serving?

Epic Church - "You got served"

SERIES: LOVE IS A VERB: Writing Your Own Story

Message: Writing a different story.

Synopsis: As Christians, we are fundamentally concerned with how change occurs. It doesn't occur simply form information. Transformation occurs from practice, and community, what we call servanthood. In fact, servanthood is what saves us. The servanthood of Christ saved us(looking at John 13), and it is our servanthood of one another that draws us into that salvation. You got served.
