Epic Sunday "Super Freak"

SERIES: LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE
Message: "Super Freak"
Synopsis: The finale of the series, we'll be looking at the climactic scene in the film when the entire family gets on stage with Olive after the pageant director and much of the audience is horrified by her "talent" portion of the contest, a vulgar dance to "super freak." It's a humorous scene, but also tender because instead of letting Olive hang out to dry on her own, the family allows themselves to be "fools" in front of all those people in order to be present with Olive and shoulder the situation with her, and not let her be humiliated alone. There is a way that the family is present to Olive in a new way, a way in which they were together but not present before. We'll be exploring the way Jesus is present with people, and the call to be present to each other. Are we present to others at Epic?

Twilight golfing at Cerritos Iron-Wood Nine

Golfing after work! We tee'd off at 5:27pm

It was really bright and we had to hit facing the setting sun on the 2nd fairway.

I did pretty good starting off, par'd the first hole and boggied the 2nd hole. Had a nice long tee shot from the #2 teebox over the water hazard to about 75 yards to the flag. I had a nice pitching shot over the bunker close to the pin. Unfortunately, I 3-putted for a one over par.

Poor Carl, he lost his spike off one of his shoe starting the first hole.

Here's Carl teeing into the sun!

Wai made a couple great bunker shots. In this one you can see her ball in the top right corner.

On the third green, Wai made about a 40 yard chip in birdie!! It was pretty awesome!

The weather was great and there was hardly any one on the golf course this afternoon!

DB at the 9th hole marker.

Carl teeing off at the 9th

Wai shows great form in her last tee shot of the day on the 9th hole.

Wai putting

Carl putting!

Carl adding up the scores as Wai looks on.

Dinner was down the street at Frantone's Pizza & Spaghetti Villa.

All three of us had the Rigatoni special!

It was a great evening. I shot a 47/23, one my lowest scores at Ironwood!
